Ladies 1s vs Lytham 1s

Match report by Amy Bracegirdle, very bruised dod.

We arrived at Lytham to a standing ovation after an interesting car journey with the one and only Poppy Jones at the wheel. After a quick team talk, we went to warm up on the partially frozen pitch. A few slow high knees and lunges later it was still solid.

We started the game strong with the aim of dominating possession and pressing high. After 10 minutes and some interesting tackling, Wilmslow won a short corner. A lovely top D shot from Amy N and partial log from the Lytham keeper saw Wilmslow go 1-0 up. Wilmslow continued pressing hard and dominating possession and Amy N stepped up to the plate slotting home another goal, 2-0 to Wilmslow at HT.

A quick chat about the decision making of everyone involved and we were off again. Wilmslow were quick off the mark and some lovely passing around the D created our 3rd goal flicked home by Izzy. I could write down details of every goal we went on to score but we might be here until the end of season dinner. 5 more goals later from Amy N (x2) Amy B, Annie and Izzy and the game ended 8-0. A strong start to the New Year from the girls and some fantastic passing between the lines and around Lytham’s defence.

DOD - Amy B for getting hit in the thigh and getting sent off for contesting the no foul decision.

MOM - Jess for a great return to the pitch!
