Ladies 2s vs Lymm 2

Ladies 2s vs Lymm 2

So Wilmslow 2s vs Lymm. We were back and heading for another win after beating them 4-2 earlier in the season.

The game was underway after a few mishaps (we won’t talk about that).  It was a slow start from Wilmslow as there seemed to be an invisible force shield round the net but some great play and distribution round the back from FEG, Anya, Rach and Charlie, feisty Ruth and down the middle and our legs on the wings.

Going into the second half we’d had our Jelly Babies and were working hard to get a goal. Finally it came with another cracker from Thea (goal number 603 of the season), it put us in high spirits but unfortunately Lymm slipped through and scored a few minutes later making it 1-1 . Lymm were back in the game and we had to pull our stripey socks up. They had a few chances on goal with some great saves from Emma. The play then started to link up, Ruth got feistier and we had a good few chances at goal with some great crosses from FEG and some wizard dribbling from Rach Payne.

A great run down the wing from Famke was crossed over to Issy and slotted into the net by Holly putting us back in the lead. We were congratulated by Nic who praised it as ‘passing hockey🤷🏼‍♀️’, clearly not up to our normal ‘sexy hockey’ standard, but still good.

With around 10 minutes left we held on to the win. We won, 3 points (plus 6 more for me) which leaves us sitting nicely in 3rd. MOM was Rach Payne !

Your sincerely,

Your DOD,

Issy
