Captains: DBS and Training

To: All Team Captains

To comply with England Hockey policies and guidance, we need to ask all team captains (or named nominee(s)) to:

• complete an EH DBS check
• complete the EH “Safe Hockey” training - one hour, online
• complete the EH “Basic Safeguarding” training - one hour, online.

Guidance:

• You might choose to do all three tasks yourself. Or to delegate one or more of them to a nominee(s) (with their prior agreement) 
• Please nominate yourself of a team member(s) to complete the tasks. Let us know who by emailing certificates@wilmslowhockey.org.uk .
• If anyone in the team already has a valid EH DBS certificate (or subscribes to the government DBS update service) that is sufficient (but we need a copy of the certificate)
• If anyone in the team has already completed either of the training courses, that is sufficient (but we need a copy of the certificate) 
• All certificates should be uploaded in Teamo Qualifications - tap your picture/initials and then View Profile, then find Qualifications and click Add.
• Any nominee(s) should be a regular member of the team and become one of the team’s “champions" for Safety and/or Safeguarding
• The Club will cover the cost of the DBS check and the training is free
• For any problems or concerns, please talk to the relevant Club Captain in the first instance.

1. DBS Instructions:

• Once you provide your or a nominee’s name, then our Welfare Officer initiate the DBS check process - you will receive an emai with a link/form to complete. 
• You will need to show your original proof of identity documents to one of our DBS verifiers in due course.
• Upload existing or new certificate in Teamo Qualifications (tap your picture or initials top left, tap View Profile (or picture) and scroll down to Qualifications and Checks. Click Add 

2. Safe Hockey training (1 hour):

• If you (or nominee) have already taken this training please provide the certificate 
• If not, please complete the training course and provide the certificate

Instructions:

1. Click the link to open the Hockey Hub (you will need to log in): https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk/safehockey 
2. Complete the training in one go (if you close the browser you’ll have to start again). Take the quiz to complete the training
3. Screenshot the score/completion page (just an case) then find the certificate from the Safe Hockey home page.
4. Upload the certificate in Teamo Qualifications (tap your picture or initials top left, tap View Profile (or picture) and scroll down to Qualifications and Checks. Click Add

3. Basic Safeguarding training (1 hour):

• If you (or nominee) have already taken this training (or have an equivalent safety qualification) please provide the certificate
• If not, please complete the training course by 6th January and provide the certificate.

Instructions:

1. Click the link to open the Hockey Hub (you will need to log in): https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk/safeguarding_awareness  
2. Complete the training including the quiz and locate the completion certificate on the Safeguarding home page
3. Upload the certificate in Teamo Qualifications (tap your picture or initials top left, tap View Profile (or picture) and scroll down to Qualifications and Checks. Click Add
